Beth comes to serve as Senior Pastor of Lewis Memorial after fifteen years in ordained ministry. Her first career was as a lawyer, practicing in civil litigation in Atlanta for seven years before accepting the call to full-time ministry in the church. She earned a Master of Divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University and is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Ministry degree in Congregational Leadership at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois, which includes study at Kellogg School of Management’s Center for Non-Profits. Beth also earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Philosophy from Emory and a J.D. from the University of Georgia.
Beth grew up in Atlanta, where she graduated from The Westminster Schools. Since then, she has lived in various places across Georgia from Athens to College Park and Rome. Beth is single and lives in Evans with her cat, Atticus. Her parents, Gene and Grace, and younger sister, Catharine, all live in Atlanta.
Outside of worship at Lewis Memorial, Beth loves singing in community choirs, though right now, being a full-time pastor and part-time student only leaves time for singing in the shower. She also enjoys cross country running and has participated in many 5K and 10 K races. Her next goal is running a half marathon. In other free moments, she likes cooking (and eating!), reading, and binge-watching Hallmark Channel movies at Christmas.
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it! Psalm 118:24
